Edming Announces Bid for Assembly

Local Businessman Announces Candidacy for Assembly

James W. Edming, owner of Edming Oil Company in Glen Flora, is announcing his candidacy for the Wisconsin State Assembly in the 87th District. He is a lifelong resident of the district and has owned his business for over 40 years.

Edming hopes to represent this area in Madision and to continue the legacy that current Representative Mary Williams will leave when she retires this year. “Mary has put the 87th on the map,” Edming said. “Now we need someone that can continue that legacy – someone that will work for the people of this area just as hard as Mary did.”
Hoping to bolster the local economy, Edming supports lowering taxes on businesses to attract new companies and manufacturers. Bringing jobs to the district is his top priority. “Right here in our area I want to continue the success Wisconsin is having with an improving economy and rising employment.” Edming added, “We must attract businesses to revitalize our district which will help families here.”
The Rusk County businessman knows what it takes to run a business and meet payroll and he knows what it takes to raise a family here. Edming says that the taxpayers deserve someone who will work hard for them in Madison. “I’ve invested my entire life in this community. I grew up here, raised a family here, and employed people here,” he said. “Because of my life experience, I believe I am the best person for the job. I want to take that experience and represent you.”
The 87th Candidate likes the direction Wisconsin is going, saying, “Since Governor Walker has taken office, our state has been heading in the right direction.” He then added, “I believe there is a bright future for Wisconsin and that is what I will work for every day I am in office.”
James W. Edming will be on the ballot in the Republican Primary on August 12.
